Calling all potential ringette players!

Come and give the game a try at the Come Try Ringette event at 10:45 on March 12 at the Cochrane Arena.

Debra Chernesky, Cochrane Recruitment/Marketing Director, says the event is intended to introduce the game to girls from ages 4 to 12, but is open to everybody.

Chernesky adds that ringette continues to grow in popularity and that locally "our association grows, every year or two we add another team."

Chernesky says that one of the attractions for girls is that ringette is a "very girly sport, they have their cheers, they do banner parties, they will paint their faces, it is a huge socialization time ".

Ringette Alberta Instructors run the hour long Come Try Ringette program and show the girls the basics of the game, with an emphasis on how much fun the sport is.
