A 19-year-old Cremona motorist has succumbed to injuries from a collision with a semi-tractor on Hwy. 22 late Sept. 30.

Shortly before 10 p.m., Didsbury RCMP responded to a collision on Hwy. 22, approximately three kilometres south of Township Road 300. The Cremona Fire Department and EMS also responded.

It is believed the southbound pickup truck crossed the centre line and was subsequently struck by the northbound semi-tractor.

The lone occupant of the pickup, a 19-year-old Cremona man, was transported by EMS to Calgary but succumbed to his injuries while in hospital.

The 26-year-old male semi-tractor truck driver and lone occupant was assessed by EMS at the scene and released.

RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Tammy Keibel says the collision remains under investigation, and no further updates will be provided. The name of the deceased will not be released.
