There's a limited time left to register for the 3rd Annual 3D Archery Competition being held in support of Veteran Hunters.

The two-day event is being held at Dragon Flight Archery, located on Range Rd. 55 just north of Cremona, starting on Saturday, June 25. There's a minimum of three rounds of archery for compound, recurve, and crossbow.

Todd Hisey, found of Veteran Hunters, says it's a fundraiser to continue to provide hunting and fishing trips for veterans and first responders suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

"The organization continues to grow," says Hisey. "We have about 20 volunteers now in five provinces across the country. We've just had one of the best springs we've ever had, providing pheasant hunts, turkey hunts, black bear hunts, and fishing trips for guys in multiple geographic locations across the country."

They're now planning their fall events and this fundraiser will help to make it possible.

"You don't have to be a veteran or first responder to participate. It's open to anybody and we have multiple categories."

Prizes have been donated and it's a great opportunity to reconnect with peers or meet new people.

The registration deadline is Friday (June 10) at midnight on their website, but if you miss it, they'll also be accepting entries at Cabela's, 851 64 Ave NE, Calgary on Saturday, June 11th.

The entry fee is $100 for two days of competition. No animals, tobacco, or marijuana products are allowed at the competition.

Veteran Hunters had a booth on the opening day of the Cochrane Farmers' Market on June 4. Hisey says they plan to attend once a month to share information on their organization and sell apparel.
