An individual from École Elbow Valley Elementary School in Springbank has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a letter to parents, Principal of  the Kindergarten to grade four school, Brenden Trinca said that the school was notified of the positive case today, March 26, 2021.

He says that the staff is working closely with Alberta Health Services (AHS) to ensure the necessary precautions are taken to protect students and staff.

For privacy reasons, it has not been specified whether the positive case is a student or a teacher at the school. A deep cleaning of the school will take place over the weekend, and the school will be open for in-school learning on Monday, March 29.

Any students and staff member, who would likely have had close contact with the individual who tested positive, has been provided additional information in a separate email about required isolation and will be contacted directly by AHS by email in the days ahead.
