Calgary's own Alex Hughes stopped by 91.5 FM to showcase her brand new tune "Until This Fire Dies"!

"This song is the perfect Fall song because it's got these warm, sultry tones to it," says Hughes. "It's about a passionate relationship that eventually burns into something more meaningful."

"This is pumpkin spice lattes, whiskey sour by a fire. That's sort of the vibe."

The Calgary country-pop artist is no stranger to Cochrane, playing the main stage at Cochrane Food Fest this summer. "I had a great time performing here in Cochrane, it was so much fun. I've been lucky to perform at Nashville North at the Calgary Stampede. Lots of events all across Alberta and I've been just kind of working away getting my music out there."

"I've been singing and performing ever since I was about seven years old and I started performing professionally pretty much right out of high school.  Music has taken me on quite the journey so far. Early on I was sponsored by the Alberta Dodge dealers and got to go perform at festivals and rodeos all over Alberta."

Hughes eventually took her music down south to Las Angeles before returning to her roots right back here in Alberta.

"There's a really cool, emerging country scene here in Alberta. It's been pretty fun to be able to be part of that and record and release music and yeah, just be a part of something really cool and special happening here."

Hughes has made some major strides including snagging a nomination for the Horizon Female Artist of the Year in 2022 with Country Music Alberta.
