If you hear a lot of loud noises coming from downtown Cochrane this weekend, don't be too alarmed.

It's likely coming from the Cochrane Legion's annual show that will feature cannons and gun fire.

Legion member, Andy Bowyer said the all-day event has something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

"We've got all sorts of stuff coming. Motorbikes and up to three-axle trucks, all sorts of stuff. Inside we'll have a big model train layout. There will be something for everybody."

Other exhibitors include the Prairie Motor Brigade, the Bomber Command Museum of Canada, the 10th Battalion CEF Commemorative Association and a George Rogers' 9 pounder muzzle-loading rifle.

Bowyer said they plan to fire canons, and they even have Town of Cochrane Councillor Susan Flowers set to fire one off.

"Two of the canons will be in working order, so we're planning to fire some blank shots across the parking lot. We'll also have the Golden Guns of the West there to have a shoot out, so lots of bangs and cracks and a lot of fun. Don't worry, the war hasn't broken out, it's only the Legion."

Entry is by donation with funds going to support the Cochrane Legion.

The event goes on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
