One of Cochrane's signature summer events is returning.

The 2024 Cochrane Fair will feature pony rides, a reptile show, various horse events, kids activities, mutton busting and so much more.

Fair chairperson Leslie Hunt said they jammed-packed all of the activities into one fun-filled day.

"Happy, fun and let's go see what else is here. We have a lot of people say, 'I don't know where to go first', that kind of stuff. It is busy but there's lots of opportunities. Mutton busting happens three times during the day and one of the biggest draws is of course the mini chucks and we're going to have six wagons this year."

Face painting, a mechanical bull, a magician and Half Hitch Brewing Company will be on hand as well.

The fair has been going strong for a decade with the exception of during COVID-19 and being forced to cancel last year, said Hunt.

"It's exciting. It's really nice to have everything back, as well as the bull riding on the Saturday night."

The Cochrane Fair will go on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Cochrane Classic Bull Riding and Barn Dance will begin at 7 p.m.
