Division 3 councillor Crystal Kissel was re-elected reeve of Rocky View County (RVC) council at its annual organizational meeting yesterday (Oct. 17).

Div. 2 councillor Don Kochan was selected as deputy reeve, replacing Div. 6 councillor Sunny Samra.

Kissel was first elected to RVC council in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. She was first elected reeve at council's 2022 organizational meeting.

Every October, RVC councillors select a reeve and deputy reeve for a one-year term. It also appoints councillors and public members to various boards and committees.

Appointments to internal boards and committees are as follows:

Agriculture Service Board / ALUS Partnership Advisory Committee: Chair Greg Boehlke, Don Kochan, and Samanntha Wright. Public member-at-large, Tricia Fehr

Assessment Review Board public members: Chris Flannery, Taylor Kanik, Prab Gill, Colin Germaniuk, Jay Anderson, Fred Hays

Bragg Creek FireSmart Committee: Chair Kevin Hanson; public members: none yet.

Family and Community Support Services Board: Chair Councillor Wright, Councillor Hanson.

Governance Committee: All Councillors are members of this committee. Chair is Deputy Reeve Kochan

Public Presentation Committee: Chair Councillor Wright

Recreation Governance Committee: Chair Councillor Samra

Subdivision & Development Appeal Board / Enforcement Appeal Committee: Chair Deputy Reeve Kochan, public members, Chris Flannery, Dustin Bunny

Emergency Management Committee: Chair Reeve Kissel, Vice-Chair Deputy Reeve Kochan
