Both Cochrane Eagles basketball teams have wrapped up their respective seasons with tournament and league play.

Last night, the U15 boys won bronze in the Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA) 'A' division in a close 78-70 win over the Foundation Basketball Club.

That medal performance was preceded by their second tournament win of the season in the Shooting Stars Classic Tournament B Division. Over the weekend they went undefeated in their drive for gold by beating CBA White 76-49, Canmore 49-34, Medicine Hat 65-52 and downing CYDC  65-37.

In May, the U15 Eagles won the Festival Tournament Championship.

All in, the team had a 16-5 record on the season.

The U17 Girls team, made up primarily of a mix of U16 and U17 players, competed in the U18 A Division in all their tournaments and exhibition play this season. They emerged with a respectable 6-6 record.

At last weekend's Shooting Stars Classic Tournament they opened with a 54-27 win over a Fernie, B.C. team before falling to CBA 37-40 and the CYDC U17 Elite, 40-42.

It's been a great season of development for the team. They kicked it off by winning the Shooting Stars Kick Off Tournament and were second in the Festival Tournament in May.

Head coach Kris Nielson says Eagles play will resume late next March.
