Cochranites are being treated to a new series of free movie nights at the Cochrane Movie House, courtesy of Cochrane Home Treasures.

The free tickets are available starting at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (Mar. 5) at the theatre's box office for the Mar. 13 evening showing of Dune 2, Kung Fu Panda 4 (showing in two theatres), Imaginary, and Ordinary Angel. Start times are between about 6:30 and 7:20 p.m.

"I'm so excited," says Cayley Breeze, manager of Cochrane Home Treasures, our community's nonprofit second-hand store. "We have Kung Fu Panda 4 and we're going to put that in two theatres so lots of kids can enjoy it, and we have Dune 2, which looks amazing. The other two movies are Imaginary and Ordinary Angels, so they're all pretty much new movies that people can enjoy."

Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. People can pick up a maximum five tickets to the movie of their choice.

Should something arise and you can't attend, please pass your ticket along to someone else or let the Cochrane Movie House know.

"A few times last year there were spaces open, and people could be in those seats," says Breeze.

Some other free movie nights are in the works. Confirmed is one on May 8 during Mental Health Awareness Week. Another is slated for mid-July.

Last year, Home Treasures sponsored a series of free movie nights because it fits within their philosophy that everybody deserves the nice and the necessary.

"We call these community builders," says Breeze. "It's a way for us to build up our community, and make sure people are able to participate in things they might not otherwise be able to do. We believe it falls under our mandate of the nice things in life, so that's we do it."
