A Snowfall Warning has been issued for Cochrane, just one day after breaking a warm weather temperature record

We are expecting 10 to 20 cm of snow in total.

Snow, occasionally heavy, will commence this evening and continue through Thursday.

Precipitation will start as rain or a mix of rain and snow in lower elevations before changing to snow.

There is a possibility of locally higher snow amounts.

The snowfall is expected to taper off by Thursday evening.

Visibility could be suddenly reduced because of the heavy snowfall, and roads, highways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate as the snow accumulates.

"Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop." stated Environment and Climate Change Canada.
