UPDATE:  This event is now sold out.

Have some odd jobs you just can't get around to? The Cochrane Generals may be able to help.

The team's annual pub night is this Saturday (Nov. 19) at the Venue and one of the high points is the live auction of players for a few hours of work. Gens president Rick Richards says there are many more reasons to come out and enjoy the evening.

"We always have a great meal, there's always a lot of buzz in the room and people are excited to be there," says Richards. "We do a silent auction of several great items and then we do a live auction of the players, where you can buy the players for three or fours of their time to help around your house or yard or whatever."

People will also get the inside scoop on what's on the horizon.

"We're making some big announcements of upcoming things that are coming down the pipe," says Richards. "It will be a great night and we always enjoy it, and we just love the amount of support we get from our fans and businesses in Cochrane."

It's also the biggest fundraiser of the year for the junior team, and that's especially helpful for travel, post-season play, and a hopefully run at a provincial championship.

"It gives us a big jolt to pay for a lot of things. With the way COVID happened, we've lost sponsors, who have just disappeared, their businesses are gone, so nights like this become even more important."

It will also be a chance to enjoy the locally brewed  "General," a new beer on the market that helps to raise money for the club.

Tickets are $25 and include a meal and one drink ticket, plus a chance to get in on the bidding for some great prizes.

Performing at the Venue that night is the rock band "Rock Bottom" who will be performing their show "Back to the 80s."

Tickets are available by emailing communityliaison@cochranegenerals.com.
