The price at the pumps is dropping just in time for the holiday season.

This is excellent news for Albertans in an economy where the cost of everything else is rapidly rising.

In Cochrane, the price has dropped from $1.42 per litre to $1.38.9 today (Wednesday, November 30).

There may be hope for more of a decrease as some stations in Calgary are reporting $1.29.4.

The price drop may be partly due to the suspension of the provincial gas tax that was part of the inflation package the UCP government announced last week.

Whatever the reason, consumers will gladly take the cut.
