Gord Bamford is coming back to town!

The Canadian Country Music star will perform at the Cochrane Lions Event Centre on Friday, April 5.

Sheldon Lachambre with the Rocky Mountain Rotary Club says they are thrilled to bring him back.

"We're pretty pumped to bring those three to Cochrane and put on a big show for the town and the surrounding area. All of the money raised will go to local community charities that our Rocky Mountain Rotary Club will give back to."

Opening for Bamford will be Devin Cooper and Dallas Alexander.

Tickets are on sale for the concert and Lachambre says 100 per cent of the proceeds go back to our community.

"We field quite a bit of charitable requests and then our board sits down and decides where that money goes. It's not just one charity that we give back to, it's a number of charities. Those decisions are generally made afterwards, but know that it is always going to local community charities that are in need in our town of Cochrane."

Playing at charity events is not something that is new to Bamford says Lachambre.

"Gord does a ton of charity work in and around Alberta and western Canada, he was kind of the natural fit to reach out to. He brings his own sound, lights and video production, it's quite a show. We started talking to him last year at our golf tournament and he was like, 'Yep, sign me up, where do I sign.'"
