Great Neighbours Week to kick off

We know that Cochrane is full of great people, and now is the time to celebrate all our great neighbours.

Great Neighbours Week runs from June 17-24 and to kick it off, Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is hosting a free community block party event on June 17.

The family-friendly party will offer something for everyone to enjoy including hotdogs, face painting, music, lawn games, food trucks, entertainment and more. 

The block party trailer will be on hand, so party goers will have the chance to explore it before the busy summer season. 

“Great Neighbours Week is an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate those in the community who make it so special,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of FCSS, Town of Cochrane. “The block party kick-off event is a wonderful opportunity to get out, meet new people and connect with your neighbours.” 

Right now, Cochrane residents are being encouraged to nominate a great neighbour or someone who helps to make the community a better place to live. This can be someone who has lent a helping hand, made a positive impact, inspired others, volunteered or supported those in their community, according to a release from the town of Cochrane. 

Submissions are being accepted until June 14.

The block party event goes on June 17 from 1-4 p.m. at the Cochrane Ranche.
