The Bow Valley Grizzlies ended their season with a loss, falling 29-19 against Edmonton's Leprechaun Tigers in the Divison 2 Provincial Championship.

Grizzlies head coach Tyler Hawes says the Tigers came out with an early 12 point lead in the match, while the Grizz ended up getting a red card, which meant they were without a player, competing 15 on 14 for the rest of the game.

"We still played some decent rugby, but the Tigers were a really good squad," he says. "We missed our opportunities I guess and we'll have to go back to the drawing board for next year."

While the Grizz didn't win the Provincial title this year, Hawes says the boys should be proud of the fantastic season they've had, which included winning the Grizz's first ever City title.

"We made some good strides this year, every year we keep growing a little bit and this year was no different. The boys got one up at the City Finals which was great for them to get something this season, we just came up a little bit short in the final. I mean in the end it was a ten point game and it really could have gone either way, so the boys will have to look at that as a positive."
