Cochrane Mounties are warning drivers of potential delays along Hwy. 1 west of town as an ongoing protest continues.

"There may be ongoing traffic delays throughout the day." stated the RCMP.

The protest coincides with the federal government's decision to increase the carbon price from $65 per tonne to $80 per tonne, effective yesterday.

Protestors say they will remain at the intersection of Hwy. 1 and Hwy. 22 until the tax is abolished.
