The community has been a tremendous supporter of creating a cenotaph park we can enjoy with pride. Now, just another $40,000 is needed to add the final touches.

David Usherwood, Legion 1st vice-president and cenotaph park chair, says they have used every penny of their project fund to complete the two most expensive phases and are just shy of crossing the finish line. He's reaching out to the community to step forward to help raise this final bit of money.

Phase Three involves the beautification of the park, including flower beds, new sod, loam, park benches, an educational cairn and possibly an addition garage bin.

More details are to follow but in the meantime, those wishing to make cash or in-kind donations can contact Usherwood at 403-650-6826 or by leaving him a message at the local Legion branch (403-932-2011),

The park is located next to the Legion branch, 114-5th Ave.
