Only 45 more gifts are required to fill the Seniors Christmas Wish List for Cochrane.

As of today, organizers of the annual Christmas Wish program require only 16 more gifts for women and 29 for men to complete the list.

Cheryl DeMaere Ellis is southern Alberta area manager for the nonprofit organization Communities of Alberta Networking for Seniors Assoc. (CAN) which orchestrates the Annual Seniors List Program. She says Cochrane area residents are amazingly generous and she's thrilled with how two minor hockey teams have stepped forward to help this year.

About 450 gifts in all will be delivered to seniors on Dec. 21.

Cochrane Toyota, 8 River Heights Dr., is the drop-off location for gifts. DeMaere-Ellis says they'll be accepted right up until Dec. 17.

The draw date is also closing in on a cash raffle to help support the program.  It offers prizes of $750, $500, and $250. Only 1,500 tickets have been printed, and they're $5 each. The draw date is Dec. 23, just in time a for little extra cash through the holiday season.
