Logan Paquette is heading to Manitoba's Junior 'A' Neepawa Titans after spending his rookie junior season with the Cochrane Generals.

The 6'0, 170-lb. right-winger recently signed a letter of intent with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League team.

“Logan will bring a strong work ethic, hockey IQ and finish around the net,” said Titans head coach Ken Pearson in announcing the signing.

The 17-year-old forewent his final season of midgets to play with the Gens in the 2022-23 season. He finished third in scoring with 16 goals and 28 assists in 34 regular season appearances and had three points in playoffs.

He was presented the Gen's rookie of the year award at the club's year-end banquet, where Gens head coach Kurtis alluded to Paquette's possible departure. Jones praised Paquette for taking a big step forward in his play. He said should the other options Paquette was considering didn't pan out, the Gens would welcome him back.

Earlier in the season, he centred the top-scoring dual in the league; Patrick Forde and Tristan Ripplinger. He was moved to winger later in the season.

"It was unreal," says Paquette of his season with the Gens. "I think I learned so much and had great coaching to help me. It was probably the best choice I could have made,"

Paquette had received a few offers to consider before deciding on becoming a Titan.

"It was the best choice for me to go there," he says. "I'm pretty pumped up."

In his final year of minor hockey, Paquette played with the U18 AA St. Albert Steel in his hometown. His family moved to Cochrane last year, and he's a student at Cochrane High.
