To the delight of many, Maritime Night is returning to Cochrane.

After being forced into a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fundraiser is being held Saturday, June 11 at the Cochrane Legion Hall.

Legion treasurer Betty Mazurik says they're offering a full dinner of steak and lobster, with all the fixings.

"Then we're going to find some maritime music and put it on the big screen and hopefully everybody will dance and drink the night away".

Prices are $30 for a 10 oz steak, $40 for a lobster, and $50 for a 6 oz steak and lobster. The lobsters are being flown in fresh from the Maritimes.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are only available until Saturday, June 4 at the Legion Hall.

Mazurik says that the fundraiser helps the Legion to stay open and to continue to put on events like this in the future. The Legion helps to support veterans, active members of the Canadian Armed Forces, as well as the RCMP.

Other regular Legion events include weekly Friday night BBQs, card nights, and music jams. Their hall is also available for rent.

Mazurik says it's important to note no membership is required to drop by the Legion Hall.

"Everyone is always welcome, children included," she says.
