Calgary Co-Op will be breaking ground early this afternoon for its food store and retail complex in Cochrane's Greystone community.

Adjacent to the SLS Centre, it will include a 41,275 sq. ft. food store as well as Co-op Cannabis, Wine Spirits Beer, a service station, car wash and convenience store.

An additional 31,000 sq. ft. of commercial retail space will be part of the six-acre site.

It's the first new store being built by Co-op since its Calgary Sage Hill location opened in the fall of 2021.

The store is slated to open in 2025.

Calgary Co-op has other locations in Calgary, Airdrie, High River, Okotoks, and Strathmore. It has over 400,000 members, 3,850 employees, assets of $700 million and annual sales of $1.3 billion,

Ground will also break on June 2 for Greystone Place, a new commercial/retail complex of the Ocgrow Group in the Greystone community.
