Mayor Jeff Genung held his weekly address on Thursday on Facebook live. He shared with Cochranites the latest COVID 19 numbers for the area. Cochrane/Springbank has 18 with 13 recovered and 5 active cases.

The Mayor also shared his anxious anticipation of the upcoming provincial relaunch strategy set to be released later on Thursday.  “This is great news, this news will affect our decision making and I will be so happy to begin the process of getting back to normal whatever that new normal is.” Say Genung

The Mayor also went on to recognize that April 27 to May 1 is Education week. He said that if ever there were a time to recognize education it is now during this unprecedented time. Teachers, parents, and students are learning and teaching in a whole new fashion and everyone should be commended.

Genung also sent a special message out to the graduating class of 2020 that he is working with the high schools to ensure that graduates get the recognition they deserve.

Following a question period, the Mayor went on to thank Cochranites for helping to flatten the curve and to keep up the good work.
