Rocky View Schools will have a new Superintendent for the 2016/2017 school year, as former Superintendent Don Hoium is retiring following 37 years of Education Board Experience.

RVS announced Greg Luterbach as it's new Superintendent of Schools/CEO. He has a long list of accomplishments: A Masters of Education, specializing in Education Technology from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Education degree with a Computer Science major, and physical education minor from the University of Saskatchewan.

Colleen Munro, RVS Chair says the board feels they've got a Superintendent that really fits Rocky View.

"He is Superintendent in the Kootenays, based out of Castlegar B.C." she explains. "So he's been a Superintendent for 5 years, he has Associate Superintendent experience, HR experience, a business background, and of course a teacher as well. He's a really well rounded individual, and of course a teacher as well."

Munro shares Luterbach has experience in Rocky View County from the early 2000's.

"We were looking for a really well rounded, versatile individual, who could bring growth into the mix while still keeping our focus squarely on students where it needs to be. He knew about our growth, he knew about our challenges, he was well prepared for the interview, we think he has the skill set to lead us for quite some time."

Luterbach will begin his position as Superintendent of Schools/CEO effective September 1, 2016.
