Despite a large jump in active COVID-19 cases provincially, Cochrane is holding steady.

The province reported a total of 1,017 new COVID-19 cases on Monday; from three days of data from the weekend.

The weekend breakdown is as follows:

  • 398 cases identified on Friday.
  • 375 on Saturday.
  • 244 on Sunday.

According to Alberta Health, the active case count in the province has now surpassed 3,000 with Alberta recording 3,380.

Hospitalizations grew by 16 since Friday, with 129 Albertans currently being treated for the virus and ICU admissions grew by two, to 26. 

Sadly, over the weekend three more Albertans died due to COVID-19, bringing the total across the province to 2,328.

Cochrane is holding steady at 18 active cases and since Friday Rocky View County added eight cases and now accounts for 31 active.
