The motto of the Silver Tips Lacrosse organization is to create well rounded, community oriented lacrosse players who act as role models on and off the floor.

The Rocky View Sliver Tip Junior Ladies is an expansion team in their second year with a combination of woman from Cochrane, Airdrie, Strathmore, and parts of NE Calgary.

Patrick Greenan, Rocky View Silver Tips, Coach, says female lacrosse is gaining some serious momentum with the expansion of this team. Greenan, says having the Silver Tips is important because they are the highest level of female lacrosse players in Alberta and provide inspiration to young up and comers.

"A lot of the minor girls came out to watch the Junior girls last year, and we told the girls (the juniors) they have to own this camp, because these minor players want to be Sliver Tips someday."

The winter conditioning camp for female players ages 8-16, starts this Friday. Although the winter conditioning camp is tentatively full, they will be holding five spots once the camp gets up and running. A drop in option will also be available for any girls that want to drop in and try it for a session
