The SLS Centre and Cochrane Arena will be reopening, just in the nick of time for a full weekend of hockey action.

SLS Centre officials say they are working with the town to reopen in phases. Today at noon, the arena and curling centre are reopening for booked events. There will be reduced ice flooding.

There will be bookings and drop-in activities, including the climbing wall and birthday parties, for fitness and on the turf and gymnasium. Tenants will resume operations.

Showers will be unavailable for all activities.

All three of Cochrane's junior teams will be hitting the ice this weekend, in addition to a full lineup of minor hockey games.

That includes a very special U18 AA Timberwolves Pink in the Rink game.

It's an annual awareness and fundraising game to aid the fight against breast cancer. Last year, over $1,300 was raised.

The Timberwolves are hosting the CNHA Black. Game time is 7:45 p.m. in Totem One.

The Cochrane Generals Jr. B team has a two-game home stand, starting tonight against the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. Game time is 7:45 on Totem One.

Sunday is a matinee Pink in the Rink game against the High River Flyers. Game time is 3 p.m.

The undefeated Cochrane Chaos junior team will face perhaps their toughest challenge in the early goings. They are hosting the Sherwood Park Steele on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. in Totem One.

Sunday, the Calgary Titans are in town for a 5:30 p.m. game, also in Totem One.

There are plenty of other Cochrane Minor Hockey games at both the SLS Centre and Cochrane Arena. The full schedule can be found here.

Phase Two of the reopening involves the reopening of aquatic centre and facility showers. At this point, there's no firm timeline.
