Let’s face it, everything was better in the ’80s!

The Cochrane Lions Event Centre is looking to prove it this weekend with its first annual Halloween event, an ‘80s dance party this Saturday.

“We've got a cover band SNB coming out from Calgary” explains Jim Thorne with the Cochrane Lions. “Actually two of the members are Cochrane High grads, so we're looking forward to it.”

“SNB 80’s Tribute was co-founded in 2004 by two former members of rival bands from Cochrane High School, home of the Cobras. The Cochrane boys dragged out the guitars and amps from their parents’ basements, and then recruited some of Calgary’s most talented musicians along the way to form the best 80’s “supergroup” since Asia and Journey.” reads an excerpt from SNB’s website.

Thorne is hopeful all of Cochrane will show off their Halloween spirit at this 18+ party. “It's going to be a tight and bright theme. We're going to have the whole set up as if it were back in the '80s and we're hoping for a real good turnout.”

“We figured there would be spooky things going on anyway and that an ‘80s theme will be well received out in town.”

Popcorn and pizza will be available on-site for people looking to take a chill pill from the rad dance floor.

Tickets can be purchased here and will also be available at the event with doors opening at 7 p.m.
