Today, Saturday, June 20, 2020 is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. The technical jargon is the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, but for us Albertan's it means bring on the warmth and sunshine.

So far, June has been it's typical rainy month, but according to the Old Farmer's Almanac we are in for a long hot summer!

Environment Canada concurs saying that it will be a "typical summer" (I'm not sure what that means in this country).

Whatever, the prediction I hope it means the lazy, hazy days of summer of relaxation and fun and enjoying our great outdoors. Let's face it, after the last few months, it is well deserved.
