As was said after the game, it's a comeback you only expect to see in slo-pitch.

But this afternoon the Cochrane Crush AA Major team pulled it off and are now heading into the championship game of the Prairie Little League Championship tomorrow morning (Aug. 6).

Facing tough pitching, the Crush weren't able to get their normally hot bats going against Regina in the semifinal. They were down 12-1 going into the final two innings when things started to roll in their favour. Nine hits in the final and only open inning of the game made the amazing comeback possible.

With two out and the game tied, Luke Alford brought in Michael Hisey for the winning run. Prior to that, there was a flurry of hits and solid base running by the Crush Major team.

Immediately after the game, Crush head coach Brian Alford's voice was raw and he seemed a little in shock over what his team just did.

"It's incredible. I'm still trying to believe it actually happened," says Alford.

He believed the Crush's pitching depth help shut down Regina in the end after their star pitcher maxed out.

"We haven't seen that pitching all weekend, so it took us a while to get him out of there. Once we did, our pitching depth was able to make the difference and our bats went to work."

The Crush face Brooks in the final at Matt Krol Memorial Park at 9 a.m. Brooks pulled off their own sixth-inning rally to upset Medicine Hat 1 and punch their ticket into the final.

The Crush beat Brooks in their first game of the tournament, 16-6.
