It was another gorgeous summer evening in Cochrane last night so I decided I would go out for a nice, relaxing walk.
Not five minutes into my stroll and I came across this guy.
It quickly became very stressful for me.
I know it's a garter snake and it is completely harmless but snakes still terrify me.
This is my 12th snake sighting in Cochrane in the almost eight years that I have lived here.
I lived in Australia for almost a year, an epicentre for a lot of scary snakes, and I only had two snake sightings.
It's kind of fitting that I saw this last night as apparently it is World Snake Day today which is meant to bring awareness to the wide variety of snake species around the world.
I appreciate snakes and know that they're important to the circle of life and all that, but I would be just fine if I never came across one again.
Do you have something that terrifies you? Let me know.
