It's a windy start to this Tuesday and it's expected to remain this way for much of the day.

Environment Canada has issued a Wind Warning for our area and several other regions close to us.

The strong wind, that could gust up to 100 km/h at times, could cause damage today.

The wind is expected to taper off around the Calgary area later this morning but areas to the north will continue to see strong wind gusts throughout the afternoon.

Low visibility may be a factor in areas closer to Edmonton and east-central Alberta due to blowing snow.

The strong wind gusts could damage buildings, such as roof shingles and windows. There's a chance that loose objects could be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage today.

Drivers are being advised to adjust their driving habits today because of the high winds.

The wind warning is in effect for:

Mountain View Co. near Carstairs and Stirlingville
Mountain View Co. near Cremona and Water Valley
Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
Mountain View Co. near Sundre
