Thinking of getting an early start on landscaping? You may want to trade the rake for a snow shovel.

Kirk Torneby, Environment Canada, Meteorologist, says the system is moving quickly,

"A system developed out of Idaho to Montana and is quickly rocketing across the province. A little bit of rain ahead of it that has quickly switched over to snow in many areas in southern Alberta, so definitely difficult driving conditions you experienced this morning with those few centimetres of snow. It looks like the bulk of the system is really starting to push quickly across the province with precipitation and snow starting to taper off over the next hour or two hours."

We may see some unpredictable weather the first couple days into Easter long weekend, shares Torneby.

"It looks like a bit of an unsettled Easter weekend in store with a little bit more rain mixed with snow is possible for the next couple days. Conditions are a little bit colder than normal, normals for this year are highs around 10 degrees and we are a little bit lower than that sitting around zero right now."

While this weekend may start off on the chilly side, weather should start to stabilize and warm up in the latter half of the weekend seeing temperatures warm up to 6 to 8 degrees.
