Banff- Airdrie MP Blake Richards will be seeking another term in office come the 43rd Canadian Federal Election in October 2019.

Richards has represented the constituency since 2008 and is looking forward to another term in office. Reaching the halfway point of his current term, Richards says there was no point in keeping the news secret. "Why not let people know how important I think it is that we fight hard in the next election to replace this current Justin Trudeau government and I thought it was the right time to do so."

Feeling fairly confident that people are not happy province-wide both economically and taxation wise, Richards, feels the public is ready to see change both federally and provincially.

The public at large will not notice anything really different than what Richards normally does. Named hardest working and best constituency MP three times including once in opposition, Richards was humble about his success. "You don't really do the work you do to try to be recognized, but it is a pretty cool honour to be named that way, and to be recognized by people from all different parties."

Richards will spend the remainder of his term doing what he does best, connecting with the community. "I don't think the public will see anything change from their perspective. I am trying to be out at as many events in the community as I can, I try to knock on as many doors throughout the year as I can to hear people's opinion, holding public meetings, keeping in touch with people in a variety of other ways and I will just continue to do all of those things. I think when you show you care that you're really trying to represent people in the best way you can that is something people will notice, I hope that will be seen by people as an honest, hardworking effort that I make on their behalf and that they'll choose to give me another opportunity to represent them."

To Richards knowledge, no one else has announced their political intentions for the riding as of yet.
