The 6th annual Show Your Ride for Brandon Thomas is returning to the Calgary Stampede Park on Aug. 25.

Last week, organizers were thrilled to announce their wish came true to return to the prime downtown Calgary location for this massive show and shine event in memory of Brandon Thomas that supports several charitable causes and speaks out against impaired driving.

While they had scouted out other locations, Kim Thomas, who co-founded the event with her daughter Kayla, had her fingers crossed that a return to the premium location would be in the cards.

"Last year, we had the most foot traffic we've ever had," says Thomas. "It was spread out and cars were able to park on the angle they like and it was great for photos. You're not going to get a better location then Stampede Park, it has everything that we need."

In January, they published their first Show Your Ride for Brandon Partnership Magazine. Another edition will be published in May.

"Thank you Calgary Stampede Park for your support for Show Your Ride for Brandon!" she exclaimed.

Now that the location has been finalized, the large organizing committee is starting to add the finishing touches to the event. Registration has also opened,

"We're in full swing with planning," says Thomas. "We've got things confirmed. We're full speed ahead."

That includes the return of dyno testing, courtesy of Devon Dyno, the kids' parade that just keeps getting larger and an RC competition. More will follow.

It also means they can take their show on the road to promote the event. The first major stop is at the Calgary Auto Value World of Wheels this weekend.

In January, they published their first-ever Show Your Ride for Brandon Partnership Magazine that not only promotes the event but its many sponsors. Another of the full-colour editions will be published in May.

Thomas says they couldn't do it without the generosity of sponsors and a large team of volunteers. Those wanting to offer sponsorships or can volunteer at the event at email kimthomas3_3@hotmail.com or leave a message on the Show Your Ride for Brandon facebook page or website.

Last year, 743 vehicles participated and $19,318.05 was raised in support of the scholarships for both Cochrane High and SAIT and the Show Your Ride for Brandon Victims Fund,

Over the years it has raised more than $70,000. Other causes supported include Mito Disease and Enny Autism foundations and MADD Canada.
