There is a fire ban in place for Banff National Park due to dry conditions.

For anyone planning on doing some camping in the park, keep in mind that the fire ban is in effect for the entire park, including front and backcountry campgrounds.

The ban means no open fires excluding:

  • Gas or propane barbeques and stoves
  • Portable propane fire pits
  • Propane lanterns or patios heaters

Individuals who choose to ignore the fire ban in Banff National Park could face fines up to $25,000.
