The blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) bloom advisory for Cochrane Lake has been lifted by Alberta Health Services, effective immediately.

AHS officials say recent weather has cooled lake and reservoir water temperatures to such an extent that blue-green algae are no longer a health concern in Cochrane Lake, Severn Dam Reservoir, and Eagle Lake.

They remind visitors and residents to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any recreational body of water, at any time.
