The Bow Valley Bobcats capped off an eight-day spring training camp with a jamboree in Canmore on June 1.

Losing 22 players in the off-season, most of them graduating grade 12 players, the team is young but had an impressive spring camp, says head coach Cam Cote.

"There's a lot of energy and lots of positivity out there," says Cote. "They're working hard and catching on to the system very quickly."

Brody Sidebottom is returning for his second year as the starting quarterback. Sidebottom played his first-ever football game last September and Cote is impressed with how quickly he has grown into the role.

"That's extremely positive," says Cote. "There has been such great growth in him. He worked hard in the off-season, went to Dickenson Passing Academy and looks now like a veteran quarterback."

They also have a trip planned to Vancouver this fall, where they will play an exhibition game and catch a B.C. Lions game.

Now there's a break in the action until the fall. They kick off their 2019 campaign with an exhibition game against W. H. Croxford on Aug. 30.
