The renowned Bow River in Cochrane has secured a prominent position among anglers, making the top 10 fishing spots across the country.

FishingBooker, an online platform, made the discovery and unveiled its rankings on Tuesday.

The Bow River claimed the third spot on the list.

"Running through the most populated areas in Alberta, this waterway offers the best of two worlds – the perks of a local atmosphere and unspoiled waters at the same time." stated a news release.

"Not only will it give you an endless list of things to do when you aren’t angling but it’ll also bless you with Blue Ribbon opportunities when fishing. The prime stretches of the river for premium Brown and Rainbow Trout are right around “Stampede City!”
