Bragg Creek's Megan Pelkey has brought home gold again.

She's amongst Canada's "Golden Girls" of water skiing after being awarded as the 2022 Water Ski And Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) Female Junior Water Ski Athletes of the Year.

Pelkey joins Hannah Stopnicki and Nellie Allard who are from Quebec.

The teen had an incredible 2022 season where she picked up a lot of hardware.

She kicked the year off by qualifying for the Jr. Masters during the Masters Qualifying series.

After that, she competed in the Jr. Canadian Open and won U17 Girls Slalom, Trick and Overall.

She also competed in the U17 Girls and Open Women at the Canadian Nationals in Edmonton.

Pelkey placed 1st in the U17 Girls Trick and Overall, 2nd in U17 Girls Slalom and Open Women Overall, and 3rd in U17 Girls Jump and Open Women Trick.

It didn't stop there though, she also competed at the 2022 PanAm Championships held in Santiago, Chile in November - December and the 2022 U17 World Championships also held in Santiago, Chile in January 2023.

She was awarded two silver medals in the U17 Girls Jump and Trick at the PanAm Championships and became PanAm Champion in U17 Girls Overall.

At the U17 World Championships, Megan placed 3rd in Trick and was crowned U17 World Champion in Overall.
