Town Officials have confirmed that Santa has been given the green light to make his rounds this year and he will be allowed into Cochrane homes this Christmas.

Mayor Jeff Genung received confirmation from the North Pole yesterday (December 9, 2020).

"Happy to report that our ECC Team was able to reach out to the North Pole and confirm that Santa for one is safe and that he is one household at the North Pole and has been avoiding contact with others," says Mayor Genung. So, he has stayed safe and healthy and that's great news. He's going to be able to visit as planned on Christmas Eve."

Mrs. Claus, the elves and the reindeer have also been given a clean bill of health.

While in conference with the Town, Officials from the North Pole did stress the importance of giving Santa space to carry out his duties safely.

"Boys and girls are always supposed to be asleep and not bother Santa," says Mayor Genung. "But it's really important this year that they leave Santa to his work of delivering all the toys to all the people across the world. We should keep our distance and stay in your beds until he's gone."

Mayor Genung says that even if you hear reindeer on the roof, it’s extremely crucial to stay in your bed.

All Cochranites must continue to do our part to keep ourselves and Santa safe.

Santa is scheduled to arrive in Cochrane sometime between  9 pm and 12 am on Christmas Eve.
