Charges laid but Bow Ridge suspect still at large

Charges have now been laid following a shelter-in-place order in Cochrane from earlier this week. 

But RCMP are still looking for the suspect. 

Residents of Bow Ridge were told to shelter-in-place just after 9:30 a.m. Monday after getting a complaint that a suspect left his home on a scooter with a firearm. 

The order was lifted approximately one hour later.

Thirty-five-year-old Gregory Deviat, of Cochrane has been charged with uttering threats, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and three counts of fail to comply with a release order.

Mounties do not believe he is currently in Cochrane. 

The public is being asked to not approach Deviat but to instead call police. 

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
