It's been a long haul for local firefighters as they continue to work away at a fire at the Ramada hotel.

It started burning yesterday afternoon at around 2 p.m.

Firefighters from surrounding communities including Rockyview County and Redwood Meadows quickly came to help Cochrane Fire Services.

As of 5:30 a.m. Monday there was one pumper truck on scene spraying water to the top of the building.

Westside Drive remains closed to traffic and pedestrians.

According to Cochrane Fire Services Fire Inspector Jeff Avery, everyone made it out of the hotel safely on Sunday.

There's still no indication on how this fire started.
