Reeve Dan Henn and councillor Samanntha Wright are running for the same seat in the upcoming Rocky View County (RVC) election.

The county has been reduced to seven divisions from nine, leading to the two residing in the same division.

A total of 19 people are running for the seven seats on the county council, and four of those divisions are in the Cochrane area.

Henn, Wright, and Roc Spence are running in Division 4, Kevin Hanson and Brent Moore in Division 1, Don Kochan and Kim McKylor in Division 2, and Jolene Airth and Crystal Kissel in Division 3.

Of the current council members, only Mark Kamachi, of Bragg Creek, isn't running after serving one term.

Advance polls will be held at the Rocky View County Hall from Oct. 7 to 9.

Election day is Oct. 18.
