Canada Day is coming up quick, and there's lots to do around town to celebrate our home and native land's 149th birthday.

The festivities on July 1 will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast at the Royal Canadian Legion. $3 for Adults, $2 for children 6-12, and free for kids 6 and under. A live band and 50/50 draw are a part of this celebration.

At 11 a.m. there will be a Flag raising ceremony at the Royal Canadian Legion. Mayor Ivan Brooker & Council will the officially kick-off the day, O Canada will be sung, and there will be a birthday cake.

At 1 p.m. the 17 annual Canada Day Festival at Mitford Park will begin, admission is free and all ages are welcome. Bring a lawn chair, no pets allowed.

2:15 p.m. You will have the opportunity to sneak-a-peek at the Canada 150 Mosaic.

At 3 p.m. A Canadian Citizenship Ceremony will welcome 50 new citizens to our country.

4 p.m. Live music will begin including, Mocking Shadows, The Rodeo Riders, Choral Waves Choir, Riverside Jazz Band, and HOJA.

All day: Food trucks, children’s activities, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides, fly fishing demos, climbing wall, balloon twisters and more

The Canada Day Festival will end at 9 p.m. the Town encourages people to clear out, head home,  and come back later for the fireworks.

Canada Day fireworks will be begin at dusk, usually around 11 p.m.
