Registration is open for one of the most heated, and cutest, competitions in Cochrane.

Reid Kimmett with Two Pharmacy said the 11th annual Diaper Derby will take place on Saturday.

"If you think of a 10K foot race for adults, it's like that except it's way more funny and way more fun with little kids. We have a little mat they run across, walk, crawl, roll or get baited by parents, whatever it takes."

It takes two people to be involved with each kid, one at the start line and one at the finish line.

"The more preferred parent or grandparent will be on the opposite side trying to bait them towards them. We've seen all sorts of interesting things, we've seen people hold puppies on the other side, cell phones with a show on, tv remotes, food."

You can enter your child in one of three different divisions:

  • Crawler (0-12 months)
  • Toddler (12-24 months)
  • Movers (2-3 year old) - Choose your own transport: scooter, trikes, balance bikes, run etc.

Kimmett said $2 from every transaction at Two Pharmacy on Saturday will be donated to Shifra to contribute to the Lindsey memorial garden.

Registration is free, but participants are encouraged to donate to The Meira Fund to help support Women's Mental Health.

There will be swag bags for participants and the chance to win the derby title.

The event is set to go on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the parking lot of Two Pharmacy.
