The human remains discovered during a grassfire south of Cochrane last week have been identified.

The victim is 33-year-old Kyle Schuiling, a resident of Calgary.

Schuiling's remains were found when the Tsuut’ina Nation Fire Department responded to a grass fire near Range Road 40 and Township Road 241 in Rocky View County on April 3.

An autopsy was completed in Calgary on April 4. 

RCMP are continuing to treat the case as a homicide.
