The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating a homicide in Rocky View County after human remains were discovered while extinguishing an early morning grass fire on Apr. 3

At about 5:30 a.m. that morning, the Tsuut’ina Nation Fire Department responded to a grass fire near Range Road 40 and Township Road 241 and discovered the remains.

An autopsy was completed on Apr. 4, and police are treating the death as a homicide.

Cochrane RCMP and the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service both attended.
