This weekend, the Cochrane and Area Humane Society is hosting their Spring Book Sale.

Held on May 18 and 19, this semi-annual fundraiser has raised thousands of dollars for animals who call the shelter home.

“We host a spring and fall book sale each year, and we have absolutely wonderful attendance and even more important, we have a crazy amount of donations,” says Tiffany Beaton, communications coordinator for the Humane Society. “If you are looking for your next book, you will definitely find it. We host it in the large rec centre at the back of our shelter.”

Book donations can now be dropped off in front of the Humane Society. Accepted donations include current fiction and non-fiction books but Cochranites are asked to leave the encyclopedias, textbooks, atlases, dictionaries, Reader’s Digest, and magazines at home.

“All the money goes directly towards the animals, so you find your next great read and you support all our furry little friends at the Humane Society.”

Puppies and kittens will also be on hand for snuggles to accompany your new books.

Global Pet Foods Cochrane sponsors the Spring Book Sale which goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. More details can be found HERE.
