If you're on your own or new to the community, the Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee has a special place for you to enjoy Christmas Day with others.

The 5th annual Jingle and Mingle Over Soup is being held on Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cochrane Alliance Church, 902 Glenbow Dr.

"People who are alone at Christmastime or have nowhere to go or are new to the country or town, are welcome to join us for a bowl of soup, sweets, and some bread," says Paul Singh, one of the organizers. "They can meet, mix and mingle with their fellow Cochranites and make some new friends."

It's a family event with games and crafts for the kids, as well as small gifts. A special guest will also be visiting.

The soup is being prepared by Gourmet on the Go, and COBS is providing the bread.

It's the first in-person Jingle and Mingle since 2019.
